ElSur El Sur (Carlos Alejandro Ponzio de León) is an Economist and Artist, author of several Installations and Performances in which he combines Paintings, Literature and Music. He is leader of Hostal Mercedes Av. and of the projects ¿Qué significa estar vivo? and ¿En qué piensas cuando miras al cielo? He has also collaborated, writing minifictions, in Monterrey’s newspaper El Porvenir, and his musical output has been performed in several forums, among them: the Latin American “Manuel Enriquez” organized by Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes of Mexico.

As part of his on-going research, he has written academic essays that explore the relationship between Art and Economics, and Art and Human Rights, in addition to his more traditional research on Mexican Economic History.
